I started writing a post about the fact that my friends don't have enough time to hang out all the time. Sometimes I get bored and lonely and all I feel like is to go have a coffee with someone and chat for hours. Don't we all?
As I was throwing myself a pity party and wondering where my proverbial "village" was, I came to the conclusion that if I get bored when my friends are too busy to catch up, then I need to come up with something fun and interesting to do during those down times. This led me to two options:
Option 1) Have another baby,
Option 2) Get more work.
Since we have no announcements to make on the baby front at this stage, I guess it leaves me with option 2. Get more work.
It's been a bit quiet lately which means that not only have I lost my source of pocket money, I have also focused solely on Hugo in the last few weeks. Nothing else. I love Hugo and I love taking care of him but it isn't always very satisfying on an intellectual level.
With the objective of moving things along, I have been working on a website to showcase the writing I have been doing over the last couple of years. It needs a bit more work before I can promote it and then, well, I need to figure out how to promote it. I have some ideas. As an aside, it's not that easy making a writing website visually interesting.
In any case, I am not looking for work as a reliable source of income at this stage since I'll still be looking after Hugo full-time for the foreseeable future but more as a stimulating distraction, to feel all those little sleepy brain cells buzzing around my head. Also I want my pocket money back!
And if that doesn't work, we still have option 1... (joking. Sort of.)
